Crypto currencies have been in existence for roughly 10 years. Blockchain technology has seen developments over the years, but still faces many technical challenges that hinder wider spread adoption, such as the scalability problem. Bitcoin and other payment tokens have been the first real practical use case of blockchain technology, but has faced challenges of their own, one of which is regulatory challenges. The "anonymous" nature of value transfer on the blockchain, and it's relative ease of use across national borders and jurisdictions has always been a strong concern for governments and financial regulators.

In this presentation our speaker will discuss how technology will greatly assist Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) provide safe and trusted services in the crypto space including blockchain while complying with regulatory requirements.

Bio:

Ken was born in Japan, but raised in England and Hong Kong. Upon returning to Japan, he attended an international high school in Tokyo, then graduated from a Japanese university. Leveraging off of his multi-lingual and multi-cultural values, Ken embarked on a two decade journey working as a proprietary trader in major wall street firms such as Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Over his two decade career in banking, he has witnessed the phenomenal growth and evolution of modern banking and financial products. After banking, Ken spent two years with Swiss crypto startup, SwissBorg, as CEO of Japan and Head of Asia. Currently, Ken is Japan Country Manager for blockchain forensics firm Elliptic.
